Amplitude
- Amplitude is a measure of the distance between a line through the middle of a wave and a crest or trough of a transverse wave. It could also be the size of a compression within a longitudinal wave.
- The greater the force that produces a wave, the greater the amplitude of the wave and the greater the energy carried by the wave.
Amplitude of Light Waves = Brightness
Light with greater amplitude will appear to be brighter. Light with a lower amplitude will appear to be dimmer.
